UK Computer Recycling Drop Off Scheme Gets Green Light

Computer & I.T Recycling Centres all across UK are bracing themselves for the influx of used computer hardware. Due to the rise of technology and the need for the next best digital advancement second hand PC’s are being dumped right across UK. In a bid to prevent landfill and promote reuse, government accredited computer recyclers registered as a DCF (designated collection facility) are offering to recycle members of the public items.

Recycling can be a very expensive business for both businesses and consumers, but some recyclers have been making life easier for people throughout the economic downturn by providing a free drop off point. One service offered the chance to win a laptop as an incentive to recycle rather than dump and found themselves inundated with used PC’s, monitors and other I.T related recycleables.

Local councils are encouraging this as it prevents the need for landfill and allows much needed space to be allocated for more imediate concerns. Looking at the way the country is moving at the moment more and more of these drop off points will be made available to the public.

It is essential that the correct data wiping and hard drive erasure procedures are undertaken to ensure the hard disks contain no personal data. All in all it looks like things are on the up for the general public with this scheme in an economy that doesn’t allow any leniancy or let up in the production of unnecceary charges levied on every service possible.

Would a local computer recycling scheme be of use to you ?
